What is dermoscopy?
Dermoscopy is a non-invasive technique to evaluate skin lesions. It uses a special device, a dermatoscope, that allows the provider to visualize skin structures that are not visible to the naked eye. The primary purpose of dermoscopy is to identify skin lesions for which malignancy needs to be ruled out. If a lesion is suspicious of being malignant, we can biopsy it and send it to pathology. We are then able to place referrals to dermatology if further management is indicated. Traditionally, it can take up to 6-12 months to see a dermatologist for a skin check. But here at WELL & Company, we are able to see you in a timely manner as we understand early identification of dangerous skin lesions is key!

- How to spot a suspicious mole:

- An open sore or wound that does not heal
- A skin spot or growth that scales, scabs, oozes, erodes, or bleeds for several weeks
